Le Passage is awfully cute in the charming Carlsbad Village.  The restaurant is friendly, but the food, while prepared well, did not perform up to expectations.

Market is a chic restaurant in Del Mar near the horse park.  Executive Chef and Owner Carl Schroeder puts together a wonderful menu of Californian cuisine using fresh ingredients that really shine through each carefully planned and prepared dish.

Bistro West is affiliated with The West Steakhouse, but is more casual in its food offerings, its ambiance and definitely its prices.

Barracuda Grill is located on the 101 in Encinitas.  The restaurant offers European cuisine with a flair.  Barracuda Grill is proud to serve fresh ingredients in all of the dishes, and that freshness comes through in the final product.

Sbicca has a prime location off 15th Street in Del Mar.  Sbicca is a large restaurant, split into separate dining areas, and serves American cuisine.

We went to Vivace while the hotel was still the Four Seasons Aviara. It seems that the Park Hyatt is keeping the restaurant, but we cannot speak to how the restaurant may or may not have changed with the change in hotel ownership.

Please not that one diner ordered off the Restaurant Week menu and one diner ordered off the regular menu. 

Vincent’s is a French restaurant in downtown Escondido.  Vincent’s serves traditional French fare in a comfortable atmosphere, and is good for dates or for groups; a true gem for Escondido.
